  • When will the design methodology ASCE 7-16 be ready in Base?
    • Within 6 to 10 weeks.
  • Does the corner strut include bolts?
    • Yes, it does include hardware. The part numbers of the included hardware are: 4000638- Dome R2 M8x80 Socket Head Cap Screw, SS 4000043-Hex Flange Nut, Serrated, SS M8.
  • Can I install a south-facing ballast project?
    • Our D-Dome R2 System is designed to work best in East-West orientation.
  • What is the module gap required for the Mid Clamp?
    • The required gap is 2/3”.
  • Can I install a double-row Tilt-Up?
    • We currently have an engineering letter for Mexico. We do not currently have an engineering letter for the US, but it can be done through special engineering. We can recommend to you a couple of engineering firms we work with.
  • Can we use the Yeti Clamp with the Shared Rail system?
    • Yes, you can use it in our Tucked Shared Rail System. We do not have a system named tucked, this is a technique for installing it. This means tucking the front and/or back rail under the module to hide the rail and attachments.
  • Can I use the Everest Ground Lug with the Shared Rail system?
    • Yes, but only with the Tucked Shared Rail system. We do not have a system named tucked, this is a technique for installing it. This means tucking the front and/or back rail under the module to hide the rail and attachments.
  • How much weight can the ballast porter support?
    • 400 lbs.
  • Is there a weight limitation of the module compatible with the system?
    • No.
  • Will this system be compatible with bigger modules (more than 2044 mm long side and 1100 mm short side dimensions)?
    • It would require us to add new parts to the system with more sku’s, but we could in the future. Most modules that size are not compatible with corner clamping.
  • For the 166" rails, what is the maximum cantilever on the edges of the module?
    • Max cantilever is 1/3 of the roof attachment span.
  • How long do the EPDM strips on the MiniRail Base last?
    • They are covered under our 25 year warranty.
  • When we connect 2 rails using the Rail Connector, how far apart does the L-foot need to be?
    • The rail connector is a structural connection, so you do not need a roof attachment straddling each splice. The structural rail connector acts as a continuation of the rail. You just need to follow the required attachment spacing.
  • Can the end clamps be mounted at the end of the rail or do we need to leave some space?
    • We advise leaving at least 2” of extra rail if using our external end clamps. With our new Yeti hidden end clamp you can cut the rail flush to the module. Our online design tool, Base, outputs approx. 4” of extra rail on each side for residential projects so you have extra room to cut on site.
  • Do the different rail profiles all use the same mid and end clamps?
    • Yes, the clamps are universal across CR 44-X, 48-X, 48-XL and 80. D-Dome uses the same mid clamps but special bonding end clamps. CR 44-X works best with the Yeti (hidden end clamp).
  • Can Everest provide uplift values for PE review?
    • Yes, on the PDF report generated in Base.
  • For a carport or canopy application, can we drill holes through the CrossRail to attach it to the metal beams?
    • No, we do not advise drilling through the CrossRail. We do not have engineering letters for that, but we can refer you to a 3rd party engineering firm.
  • How do we arrange the porters and corner struts for the D-Dome R2?
    • Please view our Roof Ballast Guide under the Dome product page under the Downloads tab. This will help you to understand the design layout from your project that is created in our online design tool, Base.
  • Can we raise the Everest Ground Mount system 3-5 feet higher to alleviate snow cover?
    • No, but Everest can refer the installer to a PE firm for a project specific stamp. Currently we only have a pre-designed stamped system using our assembly instructions.
